I would agree with the other answers. I had some mild side effects at first, no worse than a cold in extreme. Start on a weekend, take early in the day. Do what you need, relax.
I took Prozac or its generic fluoxetine for some time and had no troublesome side effects of any significance. Take it as prescribed and if side effects are too troubling call your Doctor. Good Luck!
Hi, Carole!
Despite what you may read a relatively small number of people have side effects... many have none at all or very minimal ones. If you do have them they generally resolve within just days to a week or so.
For instance, when I started my antidepressant I had a mild headache and nausea for two days and that was all. Tylenol and ginger ale was all I needed and a pharmacist can recommend OTC remedies for many side effects.
I'd suggest you take the medication at a time like the weekend so you can see how it affects you before you have to go to work or school or whatever. What it comes down to is living with your symptoms or giving the Prozac a chance to help you.
Best regards and I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.
