... pressure. Now his heart rate it’s in the 40’s, told to hold on the medicine till heart rate increase higher than 50.

I’m sorry he’s going through this. The tartrate is quick acting and that enters the system quicker than the succinate (extended release). I think the doctor was overly aggressive with the dosage, in my opinion. But, abruptly stopping it is not safe. He needs to ask the doc if he can resume at a lower dosage OR switch to the succinate, again at a lower dose and increase as needed.
I started on tartrate in May ‘23 and had a similar issue at 12.5mg twice a day. I was switched to the extended release and have a controlled BP and heart rate since the switch. We really have to advocate for ourselves and be informed consumers. You are wise to ask about this.
