Went into the doctors because, I felt like I was really anxious. Had high blood pressure. Took my blood pressure twice that day both 156/86 pretty much.Came back two weeks later to take it again pretty much the same 156/83. 60 mg capsules are prescribed once a day in the morning. Currently starting tomorrow I'm recommended to do this for 2 weeks to see if it will help with my blood pressure and anxiety. Then After two weeks we are going to see if it brings down my blood pressure. Never have been prescribed anything before. Other than your average common flu antibiotic. More Information:Im male 5"11 260IBS. Is this the route you feel would be worth trying to take and at that dosage once a day?

Sounds very reasonable, especially because it's your doctor's advice and just be sure you ONLY take ot as prescribed AND don't miss your follow up appointment(s)

Hi, zach!
Propranolol is a beta-blocker most commonly prescribed for hypertension and other cardiac disorders but by specifically targeting certain receptors in the body it blocks the action of stress hormones that cause the physical symptoms of anxiety (i.e. dry mouth, sweating, racing heartbeat, shakiness, nausea, etc.)
A low starting dose of 60mg is a sensible way to determine how effective the medication is going to be and to minimize the chance of any potential side effects... the negative ones that is. If needed, you have plenty of room for a dosage increase.
Follow doctor's orders... it sounds like a very good plan!
