Sunday my boyfriend and I had sex. I'm on the pill but no we didn't use a condom. By Wednesday(yesterday) I found out I had a kidney infection. I started taking my antibiotics today. I know that will effect my bc pill, so what I'm asking is, if I take plan b while on the antibiotics and my bc pill, will i still be able to be pregnant? I don't want to be. I have to take the antibiotics for seven days. Will plan b still work if I take it tomorrow? And would the days after plan b be baby free then too? Also, I take the pill consistently for systs so I don't have a period. I've taken them for three years.
Will I still get prego after plan b while on antibiotics?

Only one antibiotic is shown to make hormonal birth control less effective. That is rifampin, a special medication used to treat tuberculosis. The brand names for rifampin include Rifadin and Rimactane. Other antibiotics do not make hormonal birth control less effective.
Check the label on your antibiotic prescription. If you’re taking an antibiotic that is not rifampin, you’re all good as long as you’re using your birth control method as directed. Same goes for the morning-after pill.
Hi
Antibiotics are NOT contraception, they fight infections not prevent pregnancy. They will make birth control pills less effective so use back up. Plan b is for emergencies not to be used for regular birth control.

You're not getting what I'm saying ---
I don't want plan b as a regular birth control. I just want to know if there's a chance that I'm pregnant or not.
You dont want to be taking Plan b while you are on the Pill too. It is too many hormones. You need to use back up barrier protection, like condoms, not Plan b, for the seven days you are on the antibiotics and for seven days after you finish them so two weeks total. Either use condoms or abstain if you do not want to get pregnant. Dont worry about Sunday's sex. No Plan b doesnt cover you for a few days after you take it. You return to fertility quickly after the dose.
So is there any chance that I am pregnant it is it too many days after sex for that to be possible?
Do you understand that the pill is birth control and you don't need a condom unless you are on antibiotics. When taken correctly there is less then a 1% chance of pregnancy.
Yes I do understand that. But antibiotics are a contraceptive, and I had sex before I started them.
