This is a bit late but I wanted to share my experience.
In 2013 i had unprotected sex and the next day i took a morning after pill. It was probably 10 hours after the deed. I ended up pregnant with my son even though I took the pill.
Do NOT rely on these things. Get on birth control or use condoms. Use both if you have to.

Everything except the early period. you get sick, cramps and bloated, everything you get when youre pregnant. You wont know 1 day-1 week after your period.

You probably were already pregnant before you took the plan B pill after sex but you just didn't know you were... Remember Plan B doesn't terminate or hurt a pregnancy and that's how you have your son. Sorry about it "failing" for you but on the bright side you have your son!

I had sex last night with my boyfriend. Unprotected and he came inside me. The thing of the matter is this... I just started a new birth control this week I'm 4 days in and I am on antibiotics. My period just ended last Wednesday. Do you think I could get pregnant?

Whats the update? Did she end up being pregnant? Im in the same situation although i took the plan b i was ovulating that same night so im not sure how effective it was. I have mild cramps and some spotting after 3 days of taking it.

It is best to take it as soon as possible because it wont terminate a pregnancy already in progress. Usually if you take it within 36 hours of an unprotected sexual episode it will prevent pregnancy. It is still possible to get pregnant. No birth control or emergency contraception is 100% effective. Pregnancy can still happen. More than likely you will be fine. Try not to freak out too much and be aware that plan b will mess up you cycle for a few months. You may miss your next period and possibly miss more than one period. It may give you symptoms similar to pregnancy-nausea, breast tenderness, cramping etc. It is too soon to have pregnancy symptoms yet. Withdrawing the penis before ejaculation does little to nothing to prevent pregnancy. Men secrete sperm all through the sex act. They cannot feel it or control it but it happens even if they pull out before they ejaculate, some sperm is released.

The best time to be concerned about pregnancy is BEFORE sex, not after! It is harder that way, sure, but best. Hopefully everything works out in your favor but next time you feel tempted to give in to unprotected sex, remember how stressed you were this time. There are a lot of different birth control methods out there, many are inexpensive and easy to obtain. Condoms, for instance, are available all over the place and are relatively inexpensive. Get a box and carry a few in your purse ad insist your partner use it if he wants sex. It is better for you to carry them in your purse than for him to carry in his wallet as heat can damage condoms and make them break easier. There are many areas that have county or state run free or low cost contraceptive clinics. Do some searching to see if one is in your area. If you can get on regular birth control, there is much less to worry about! Birth control pills, when taken properly are about 99-99.9% effective.
They are one of the most utilized birth control methods there are. In this day and age, there is really very little reason for unplanned pregnancy. I hope that you can get yourself on a good birth control method so that you dont put yourself through this every time you have sex.

I had just taken a plan b on the 9/15/17 when I first took it I have had no side effects but on the 9/17/17 I have had dizziness nausea and tiredness and when I eat I feel like vomiting... the dizziness and nausea go away but then comes back... I feel like pain kinda like going up my vagina is any of this normal and my last period was from September 1st too September 7th I can't be pregnant right??? My next period should start on October 6th

If you take it within 72 hours its pretty effective. If will mess up your cycle for a few months and give you symptoms like pregnancy. I'm glad you realize you canstill get pregnant, and no matter if he comes in you or not, he still deposits sperm in you. This is not a method of birth control but a myth perpetuated by horny boys. If you're smart you'll get yourself on a reliable birth control. You really shouldn't use plan b more the 2 times a year.its meant as emergency contraception.

Ok so my period started August 26, 2013 and that same day I had sex with my boyfriend he came inside me and the next day around 10:00 am I went to get the morning after pill since I was on my period is there a chance I may get pregnant ?? I took the plan b right after sex within the hour. I'm now 6 months pregnant it does not work for me at all. I took it also for my first pregnancy and it failed again. So be very careful and don't depend on it at all ! :)

You cannot get pregnant while on your period. You have to have an egg released to fertilize. There is a 24 hour period each month when you are fertile but since sperm can live for ~5 days, there is a 6 day time when you need to use protection.
