How is your son now
I hope he came into our world perfect and healthy.
Hi Samantha! I see this is some years ago now. I happen to be in the same situation as you were then, and I have so many questions.
But first of all, did everything go fine with your pregnancy and if so, was your baby effected by the zoladex in any way?
I found out that I was 5-6 months pregnant and I had been on zoladex that entire time as well as the year previously for breast cancer. My son was born perfectly healthy, in fact he was super size 10.5lb and super strong, could hold his own weight and resist the additional force on his legs with me gently trying to push him down to seat him as a newborn.I think he went over term as we had no real idea when he was conceived. During the pregnancy we were very concerned as you are so I can really relate.
He is now 10, strong and healthy as an ox. He has mild spectrum autism which makes him full of character and really smart in his own way. Nobody outside of the family knows or suspects and he is so normal many family members don't believe the doctors. I don't think he has this condition because of the zoladex but I have wondered (I have also had thyroid cancer and if my thyroxine levels were low during pregnancy this can cause brain function problems, but I don't think it was that either). There are many other factors that can cause autism. He is a work of art and I would not have him any other way for the world.
I believe you will have had your child by now. I hope everything is well.
I had my first Zoladex 3.6mg implant on 1 May to shrink severe endometriosis before surgery. I had a pregnancy test before the injection which was negative but it was carried out too early! On 10 May I had several positive pregnancy tests and hCG levels were at 313 2-2.5 weeks after conception. I saw an obstetrician the same day and although he has never come across this situation he has put me on 400mg of cyclogest twice a day to boost my progesterone levels. What treatment/medication did you receive to help you carry to term? I am desperate to make this work! We were trying for a year and the timimg could not have been any worse! You advice would be massively appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Sarah.
Hi Sarah!
I am in the same situation now. Could I ask if everything turned out ok?
