Ground flax seed is a great natural laxative and really good for you. Add one tablespoon to a little peanut butter or add to cereal if you eat carbs. Citrucil works well too with no gas. Be sure to drink as much water as you can.
Its great that you are having such a good response to it. Try taking fiber, and drinking allot of water. If you are eating less, you're going to go less, for one thing. Exercise helps too. If those things don't help, you can try a stool softener like colace, or a mild stim lax/stool softener like peri colace. Both these are available in generic form.
Thanks for your response. But I have done all of those. I have been walking 30 minutes everyday. Been taking fiber pills and fiber bars about three days this week. The last two nights I took two stool softners. It has been a week. I think I will go to pharmacy and possibly get Metamucil or something. If not by Monday I will go into Doctor and see what I should take as precaution also.
Have you tried Miralax? Good luck.
I use the Walmart brand of generic MiraLax. Sometimes taking only 1 dose doesn't help, but when that happens, I take one and a half to two doses right before bed & always have a bm by the following day. Note: sometimes two doses produces diarrhea, so start w/1 1/2. OR use 1 dose at night, then a glycerin suppository the next day, & presto! You're golden... or brown... or whatever. (Eww!) Best of luck!
