I do experience dry mouth about an hour after I take 10 MG nightly.
It goes away. But for the past 2 months I have been experiencing very painful gums.
No swelling, no bleeding, I just had my teeth cleaned 1 month ago and had a full set of x-rays. Not even a cavity. Now I notice a metalic taste in my mouth. Ambien is the only thing I have added or changed about my habits. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Ambien - anyone had painful gums or metallic taste while taking this?

Yes.. dry mouth and metallic taste in my mouth that will not go away! Went to ENT doctor and dentist and everything check's out good...
I just started taking it last night and cannot get rid of the taste in my mouth. But will tolerate it if I can get at least 5 hrs of sleep , which I did last night.
I take ambien and I think it is definitely part of my problem with painful teeth/gums and burning eyes. I am miserable all day long -- but fine when I wake up in the morning. I also need to take lomotil because I have no colon and it slows the digestion track. Today I am promising myself not to take any of these things - I've tried this before but I never can do it long enough to completely get rid of my teeth/gum pain -- there must be an antidote.
I have painful gums and the only thing that helps is ambien. The only problem now is I wake up after four hours and can not go back to sleep
Yes,,it is a side effect to the med. Every time I take an Ambien,I taste metal.
Hello bitsy1. Fairly certain its the ambien Reading up, on some of the reviews, (users) and ambien certainly carries it fair share of side effects. Best I might suggest, talk to your doctor, and look at other sleeping drugs. You'll have to taper yourself from ambien, or you'll most likely suffer through some unpleasant and possibly dangerous side-effects. Wish I could have given you a reason. Again its most probably the ambien, but its to the reason why that I can't explain. Often its just like that. One person has a reaction that most other people simply dont have. very best to you.
yes i have been trying to figure out what it is and i forgot i have took ambien the last three nites and i have sore teeth and feel like im sucking on a penny thanks glad im not the only one
