Imprint up to now has been P03 the latest refill imprint is P07. I need to know if this is the same drug and dosage. Could not find the info online, and it is Sunday so Vet is closed. Any idea how I can verify that this is the right prescription?
Is P07 a correct imprint for 5.0mg Vetmedin Pimobendan for dogs? Imprint was P03 this refill P07?

My 1.25 Vetmedin Pimobendan tablets are imprinted with P05
I wish Vetmedin's company would explain! Did you find out more information?
@ginamarina
I found out from the Vet office P03 and P07 are both 5.0 mg. P03 are manufactured in Germany and P07 are from Mexico. I prefer the P03 because they split more easily and evenly.
P01 must be the Canadian manufacturer of the 1.25. P05 is Mexico. Canada's customer service totally played dumb with me as if they had zero idea that the pill in my hand could possibly be Vetmedin ::rolls eyes::
VetRxDirect answered my question on this:
Answer:
“Per the manufacturer, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., Vetmedin 1.25mg, 5mg, and 10mg tablets all have 2 different sites in which they are manufactured. Therefore, there are 2 different embossment codes upon each tablet, depending on which location it was manufactured at. The 2.5mg Vetmedin tablets are only manufactured at 1 location and therefore only have 1 embossment code. The embossment codes on the tablets are as follows:
Vetmedin 1.25mg tablets: P01 --OR-- P05 --- (mine: P01-Canada, P05-Mexico)
Vetmedin 2.5mg tablets: P06
Vetmedin 5mg tablets: P03 --OR-- P07
Vetmedin 10mg tablets: P04 --OR-- P08
Hi Lnelson521, this is the only information I could find online relating the imprint codes to the strengths of Vetmedin. Unfortunately the descriptions aren't complete in the prescribing information.
Vetmedin 1.25 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg chewable tablets for dogs
Chewable tablet. Oval, scored, mottled brown tablets with fine white spots, embossed with Boehringer Ingelheim logo and either P01 (1.25 mg tablet), P03 (5 mg tablet) or P04 (10 mg tablet).
The P03 pill is the 5 mg strength. There does not appear to be a P07? Could the code possibly read P01? If so, then it would be the lower strength 1.25 mg tablet you have been given. Definitely worth checking with your vet.
