Can I take metronidazole to treat BV during my mentrual period?

How do you know you have bv if you havent' seen a dr? If you have he'd give you the antibiotic you need with enough of them to get rid of the infection. You are supposed to take all your pills when dr orders them.

Well I have had BV in the past and was given metronidazole at the hospital.Its come up now and want to know if I can use it when on my period.thank you for your response
