Yes you can take the two together, Metoprolol is a beta blocker and lisinopril is an ACE INHIBITOR. Your father is having some form of cardiac distress and should be taken to the ER asap. An ACE inhibitor and is a front line medications for heart failure.
I realy don't know
I've taken Metoprolol 50mg. & Lisinopril 20mg. for years! And I had no problem with the combo. I think maybe it affects older patients differently.
I take lisinoprol 2.5 mg once daily. I take metroprol every 12 hrs.
By mistake I just took the lisinapril just now again at night! Should I still take the metroprol for the 12th hour again too since I took the lisinapril by mistake? Will I die or pass out?
I'm also on Metoprolol twice a day along with Lisonopril in the AM. I now check my pulse before taking the Metoprolol because when I was in the hospital they always checked my pulse before giving it to me. If my pulse was below 56 they omitted giving it to me, so I also do the same thing. Ask ur doctor what he wld recommend.
Question:

My father was prescribed Metoprolol Tartrate 100mg and Lisinopril 10mg and passed out the first time taking it.
Then doctor lowers dose to Metoprolol 50mg and Lisinopril 5mg and again almost passed out.
Doctor knows about the first episode but not the second. We are setting up an appointment for the other visit.
Taking them together gave my father problems!
Stop taking this crap immediately. I was on this junk and I ended up in the ER with3rd degree heart block!!! Enough said.
I take them both too and passed out several times i went to doctors she said its safe but i stopped taking the lisapril because I keep getting dizzy and light headed
Sure if its needed to control your bp. Many people take 2 or more bp meds in order to control it. I'm o 2 myself.
