I doubt this med caused the yeast. Its not an antibiotic but an anti bacterial. It works by making your urine acidic. Its ok to take the fluconozole while you are taking it.
That is correct. Methenamine is not an antibiotic. It is not used to treat a UTI, but to prevent a UTI. I used to have chronic UTIs until my urogynecologist prescribed Methenamine preventively. I take it twice a day and each time I accompany it with 1000mg of vitamin C. I suggest that you see your doctor, treat the UTI, and then, when you no longer have the UTI, ask your doctor about using Methenamine preventively and accompanying it with vitamin C. I, too, doubt that this medicine caused your yeast infection, but I am not a doctor. As always, you should follow the doctor's recommendation.

I also understand that methenamine is not a antibiotic, and that it is concentrated in the bladder to prevent recurring urinary tract infections.
