It has been almost 4 years now that I have been diagnosed with diabetes & I take metformin 1000 2x a day. Taking other medications will affect metformin and your blood work but my cholesterol numbers have stayed a little on the high side though. I really dislike diabetes though. Causes so many things to go bad and yes on my last visit my Dr gave me a stronger med for cholesterol atorvastatin. So I am hoping the next blood a1n1 test is going down. But now that I think about it I must say you are correct it also seems to affect my cholesterol also keeping it elevated enough so that my Dr had to put me on a stronger medication at 20 mg. take care BH
