I have taken metformin 500mg for about 2 years.
Metformin to be taken before food or after food, pls assist thank you?

Metformin is best taken with food.

Metformin is best given with meals to reduce commonly experienced gastric side effects (nausea, vomiting & diarrhea).
Take metformin with a meal, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Some forms of metformin are taken only once daily with the evening meal. Follow your doctor's instructions.
