If you take it 2 or 3 time per day, how many hours do you leave between doses? I'm trying to figure out what others do. The doctor said just to take it 2 or 3x a day while I'm awake... not so helpful. I've been doing 10mg 2x about 10 hours apart without food. 6am and 4pm. But thinking of trying 3x per day as it seems to wear off.
How many hours apart do you take Buspar?

Hi Kt: I have read where it is recommended taking buspar doses at the same time each day, taking each dose with or without food. I have not had a problem with the way I take my doses though. I take one in the morning (which varies from 8 am to 10 am), one with lunch, and one around 5 or 6 pm. I don't take the nighttime dose too close to bedtime as it can tend to keep me awake if I do. The morning dose I take on an empty stomach, the one at lunch with food, and the later one with or without food. I don't see any difference in the effectiveness either way. It has not been a problem that I have had to be cognizant of. It works great for me! I just don't think about it all that much, so sometimes I skip doses. But it keeps on working just fine. (That could be why your doctor answered you the way he did, just telling you to take it 2 or 3 times a day, leaving it up to your discretion).
Thank you so much GMc!
