I have had very favorable results with metformin after being told I was "pre-diabetic" . Over 9 months my A1C went from 6.8 to 5.7 while taking 500 mg twice daily. Would it be ok to reduce frequency to 500 mg once daily after dinner? Or can I stop medication all together until next annual blood labs indicate whether I need to resume or not?
Can I lower metformin dosage frequency or just stop taking it?
