I am 39 years old woman and I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type II. Therefore they prescribed me one terrible medication when I gained 20 kilos in 3 months. Horrible. Now my doctor prescribed me Topamax for improve my sleep and loose my weight. I am taking 50 mg only one week and I have several side effects: slightly headaches, stomach pain, tiredness, dizziness, I am very nervous, a bit depressed, I have a bit trouble with sleeping, I have very dry mouth etc. I still believe in in that these side effects will pass away? Has somebody else has the same experience?

Answers
Hi, Katerina!
What you're describing are very common side effects of mental health medications. Generally they subside over a few days to a week or two and should lessen each day as your body adjusts to the drug.
Try to remain patient and keep a positive attitude. You should be feeling better soon now.
