I took only one dose and my side effects began the next day. Bone pain in legs, teeth pain, malaise, restless sleep, carb cravings and hair loss were my main symptoms. These lasted about 3 weeks until my registered dietitian daughter recommended I take a calcium supplement with vitamin K. Once I took Solgar Advanced Calcium Complex for a few days most of my symptoms began to ease. It has been 3 months since I took the pill and my hair loss continues but has slowed down a bit. I still have bone pain in my legs but not as severe as before. I feel like I have aged 10 years after taking this pill. My doctor thinks I was exaggerating my symptoms and wanted me to take Acetonel instead. I refused and am taking vitamins, eating an alkaline diet and using a vibration board. I may try the OsteoStrong center.
This is something I would like answered. End of January 2019 I was diagnosed as having osteoporosis in my lower Bach and osteopena in my hips. I was prescribed Fosamax to help slow this down. I took the first two doses as prescribed. With in days I noticed muscle pain and what felt bone pain. At first I didn't associate this pain with the Fosamax so I continued my dosages. I took the next two doses as prescribed. I was feeling more pain so I took a good look at the paper that accompanied my prescription. I saw the side affects and immediately realised what the pain was from. I have always been a healthy active 64 year old woman. I quit taking the Fosamax on February 23, 2019 and I am still experiencing the bone, joint and muscle pain. I have talked to my doctor and she hasn't been able to say how long it will last or what to take to deal with the pain. Sure hope someone out there has some better answers.
I took Alendronate for 3 months, after I developed a few side affects. I reported to my Doc every 2-3 times a month. The last report was blood in my stool. I stopped taking it immediately. How long will it stay in my system?
Fosamax can cause serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately if you experience any irritation, inflammation, or ulcers, chest pain, bone, joint, or muscle pain.
