I had sex on the 4th I was already 2 days late. I freaked out out so I bought plan b on the 5th. I have not had sex in over a year. I had used ones Plan B before. But I really don't remember much about it. How long does it take to work.
How long does it take for Plan B too work?

If your period is always regular, then you will not have been ovulating when your period was due. It's worth learning about a woman's menstrual cycle, as it could save you stress in the future.
Plan B works by delaying ovulation until the sperm has left your body. If you are already ovulating when you have sex, then Plan B cannot do its job, & you'd need one of the other forms of emergency contraception. In this case, you indicate that you were no where near ovulation.
Note: Emergency contraception is not as reliable as regular hormonal birth control, it simply might be better than nothing, in an emergency situation.
Yup I was no where near it. And lately my cycle has gone really weird. It went from my regular 28 days to 31 to 32 and in one month I had my period twice. And the the next.month regular like nothing happend.
In that case you do not know when you are ovulating, & therefore Plan B may not be effective. The other pill, Ulipristal Acetate, should be more reliable in this instance. You can use that up to 5 days/120 hours after the unprotected sex, but there's more chance of it working the sooner you can take it.
the other option is to have an IUD fitted by a doctor, within the same time-frame.
I track my ovulation more than my period because some time is is late so I tend to do it by ovulation. The next day after the sex I had some cramping an yesterday Sunday they where really strong. I have like a thick yellow to white discharge. With I normally get when I am about to get my period. And I check my app and it says I'm late but with in a normal time.
It's your call.
It's possible to ovulate more than once in a month. Not common, but possible.
I have read the thing that the pill that you have told me and says it does the same thing has the plan b. It delayed adulation or it prevents the egg from attaching to the wall.
*ovulation
It works in additional ways. Have a look at the Manufacturers website. Same with the IUD.
I have personally had success with it, when Plan B was too late to delay my ovulation.
Do I need a prescription?
It doesn't hurt to say thank you when someone offers you help for free! I'll leave it to someone else to keep answering your questions. You'll need to check the law in your Country regarding Ulipristal Acetate.
I' am very grateful for your help. I am shust asking since we are having a conversation about it. But I love the fact that you are very helpful. And I was wondering about if a if I need the prescription for it.
Ulipristal Acetate takes a prescription in the USA, I don't know why except that I suspect it may be harsher than Plan B.
