We are concerned that a recent and fairly sudden bout of disorientation, confusion and hallucinations could be caused from using pantoprazole for 6 months. We are discontinuing use and want to know how long this drug remains in the body?
How long does it take for pantoprazole (Protonix) to be out of your system?

yesterday I went to my doctor, he asked to stop taking natural herbs medicine and instead he asked to take 2 40mg of pantoprazole daily, well I did and last night I could not sleep whole night, and when I tried to sleep I have allucinations, very scary. I am not taking this pill any longer even though my Dr say so. its 6:45am and I have to work, am tired, I feel sick, and my stomach is like burning.
I don't believe Protonix would cause the side effects you mentioned. If you don't mind me asking, what other medications are you taking? do you drink while on any of them? Protonix has a half life of about 5 hours so in 1-1.5 days it should be long gone out of your system.
