I sometimes get tachycardia. My doctor prescribed Lopressor. My blood pressure is normal.
How long does it take for Lopressor to slow down your heart rate?

Lopressor acts very quickly ( about a hour) and peaks out at about six hours (maximum effect) so taking it at the right time is important with this drug. learn to check your own pulse and then check it once a hour for 8 hours. This will give you a good ideal of how it works for you.
