It depends on a lot of different factors. I think the tablets are supposed to take an average 6-12 hours time before working it's way through your system and becoming effective, however there are a few contributing factors I feel that could change this figure. These factors are things such as your age, how regular you are (when not constipated), if you've taken senakot before etc. For example I take an extra strength senakot tablet every other day and I still only manage to go once or twice every 5-7 days, however to someone who has bowl movements everyday this would more than likely result in a lot of bowl movement, I think it really just depends on who you are and how you go to the toilet normally. Regardless it should only be taking half a day or less to get your stool moving with senakot, assuming your bowl movements are fairly frequent, unless you're heavily constipated, and need to in fact take another dosage of senakot, following the guidelines to help move along the hardened stool.
