My insertion date of my Nexplanon was 1/8/13 making my removal date 1/8/16..But i couldn't schedule an Ob-Gyn appointment for another two weeks!! So basically, long story short my question is Am I still protected in the meantime of getting pregnant or does this birth control method expire on that exact date? Do I have a little grace period here lol or should I send my husband out to by condoms asap? :) Thanks, L
How long after my nexplanon expires will it still be effective?

Lindsay; They really don't say anything about how long it would be good after the exp; date best to use some back up in the mean time you sure don't need to take any chances.Im sure it well be still good the medications never just stops on the day it expired and that might not be the right date as far as the drug vs the day the doctor put it in. Because if the FDA were to check it even on the last day of the expired date it has to be putting out the full amount. but better being safe than sorry.
