Google: "Lexapro withdrawal". There are several sites which which describe the symptoms and give a timeline for withdrawal.
There are many factors involved including what dosage and the length of time you've been taking the medication. You may need your doctor's assistance.

Yes! All of the above. In addition I get massive body aches and tingling sensations in my fingers and toes. Major fatigue. Lastly my sleep is off. Going to sleep is difficult and is accompanied by bizare dreaming. These symptoms quickly resolve upon restarting the medication. Hope this helps.
I have stopped 10mg of lexapro for three weeks now. I am this second in the throws of anoying intense brain buzzing, which happens in sets of twos. I tried to stop one other time but felt a deep dark place would ingulf me so I went back on. This time I am comitted to quit. Red wine seems to help. I have had no vomiting nor nausea. just knowing this forum excists helps , and to get out my experiance. I also take ambiem which I am very happy for. It helps especially when needed most, bed time. I have also noticed my labido is back unfortunately im not in the possition to take advantage of this. Some times at work I talk to much, more than I normaly would and I cant walk my poor little dog whom is stairing at me right now. I am also am unable to concentrate to read or play a board game with my friends and now they think im acting weird to not play when were on vaca everyone plays and I just melt into the back of the house making excuses . However as I have said I am committed to quit.
I will throw them out next. Good luck and think of the progress you have already made. I have actually bought a new book and look foward to being able to have the consontration to actually read. (or take the time to spell check) LOL
Yes, I believe that is "normal". Lexapro has a ton of bad side-effects. The way to prevent this is to ween off of the drug instead of stopping it cold-turkey. Because your body is so used to having Lexapro, it is going into withdrawal. While there is no way to prevent withdrawal, weening off slowly is key. When I weened off of 10 mg of Lexapro, this is what I did.
1) I cut the 10 mg pill into fourths and took only 3/4 of the pill for two weeks
2) After those two weeks, I took 2/4 of the pill for another two weeks
3) Next, I took 1/4 for one week (although, I should have waited two weeks because the withdrawal got pretty bad)
4) After that week, I stopped taking it
The intense withdrawal did not happen until I stopped taking it for the most part. The most difficult time was the first few days after I switched doses, but once your body adjusts, it's okay. Also, because I weened off, I never had the symptoms you have now. So I strongly suggest going back on it and weening off in this manner because it's the safest and "easiest" way to do it. It's never easy, but this is the safest bet. Good luck!
Hey shutter,
You are experiencing withdrawals from the Lexapro. It is best to taper off over time a medication of this nature. If the withdrawals are intolerable then you could resume the Lexapro at the lowest dose and slowly taper off to avoid the severe withdrawal. Though I must say since it has already been a week, you are going to slowly get better now. It may take another week or so to get back to normal. Since you are a nurse, you know to drink plenty of fluids so to not get dehydrated from the vomiting.
If you would like to discuss restarting the Lexapro and tapering, let me know, otherwise hang in there. It will get better.
Best wishes,
Laurie
Thanks. I am so tired. Trying sublingual b12 and omega fish oil
Hang in there, it will get better.
I too am having withdrawals from lexapro. I am trying to find out if there is another drug that will help my anxiety that is not as potent as Lexapro. These withdrawals are terrible.
