Lexapro has worked for me but the only problem I had was weight gain. I gain 85 pounds but since I have been of Lexapro I have lost 30 pounds. My anxiety has been bad and I’m really considering going back on it. I’m way more active then when I was on it. Does anybody have tips for Weight loss while your on it? Did you gain weight then lost it? This seems to be the only one that work for me
Did Lexapro cause weight gain?

I didn't gain an ounce on Lexapro but even if I had I wouldn't have stopped this medication. I was so happy to have my life back I wouldn't have given a hoot about some extra pounds. Better a life than worrying about weight gain.
On Lexapro and did gain weight(30 pounds). Weigh the benefits of the medication and the undesired weight. I believe almost zero anxiety is far better than adding some weight. And if the addition of weight is big then do exercise and sweat it out. You will add some weight but not not that much. Hope this helps.
I was off all SSRI’s for about a year and just recently started back on Lexapro and I have gained a little, maybe 5lbs over months but, my anxiety was so bad that before I had NO appetite and would eat maybe once a day so now I have seen an increase in appetite but, I feel much better so for me my calorie intake went up bc I calmed down and am more relaxed so really I’m eating like I should have been for a long while. I took it years ago and saw no weight increase and I’d say 5lbs or even 10 if you’re feeling better is worth it. Just makes me exercise more which I needed anyway!
Lexapro (Escitalopram) is an excellent antidepressant. I was on it for 1 year and it really worked like a charm for me, in my case I did not gain weight, but everyone reacts differently to meds.
This is 1 of those meds that weight gain/weight decreased and increased appetite/ decrease appetite can go either way depending on how your metabolism reacts to the drug.
I suggest a hypocaloric diet ( more protein and less carbohydrates) and exercise at least 3 times a week.
