Levaquin is used to treat bacterial infections. If you feel well enough to exercise then by all means go ahead. Exercise will not interfere with the antibiotic. However resting helps give your body a better chance of fighting off the infection and speeding up recovery.
The decision is yours - go with how you really feel.
My advice would be to NOT exercise while on this antibiotic since through my experience and the doctor will probably tell you, that you can tear tendons while on this powerful drug! Look at all of the side affects and this is one of them. Also, your pharmacist is a good person to discuss this with. My experience with this drug is to drink lots and lots of water and not use the muscles so much. A friend of mine was walking up stairs (she was on Levaquin at the time) and she tore a tendon and it took many months with therapy to heal. Levaquin is a very powerful antibiotic... maybe your doctor can give you something different.
@suzanne66: I think the original poster may have been referring to the fact that a side effect of Levaquin is ruptured tendons. The risk can last for several months after the medication is discontinued. Understandably, those who take this powerful drug are concerned about possible long-term damage or injury.
