I am currently taking lactulose at about 10l:00pm (before I sleep). I am getting tummy aches during the night and am waking up several times, however, I do not have a bowel movement. Would taking it in the morning be better?

I'm taking it - I have MS - and the best time to take it is in the morning, as it says on the bottle (UK). You do get gas and rumbling but the gas usually is not smelly if you take it at this time of day and your body can clear it effectively so it shouldn't give you pain. I don't get any pain, unless I have the runs too from something nasty that I've eaten.
If you're home most of the day I'd take it in the morning.
Thanks! I will be starting chemo and radiotherapy next week so still not sure which time would be the best (especially in view that I will be on a drip).
Thanks once again for your reply.
