Take ivermectin on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

I misread your question and I can not find information on why CDC says to take it with food

"Ivermectin oral tablet is used for short-term treatment. It comes with serious risks if you don’t take it as prescribed."
I suggest you ask you Dr. and/or your Pharmacist.
