I have a very delicate stomach. Can not take oral medications(anti-inflamatory such as Naprosyn etc.) and I has a knee replacement 3 yrs ago but still have some pain. Under this condition it is safe to use the gel???
Thank you.

Hi, as Laurie has said, it is much more rare to get stomach upsets from a gel, but it is possible. If you find you are suffering, you could ask your doctor about taking omeprazole to counteract the side effects. My father takes diclofenac and omeprazole together, it is quite a common combination.
Hi Mrs. Valdes,
While the Voltaren gel still contains the same medicine diclofenac as the oral medication, the incidence of stomach problems is very low. The most common side effect is irritation at the application site. To read more on the side effects of Voltaren gel go to:

Hope this helps,
