When does the insomnia from taking Lexapro disappear?

For me the insomnia has never gone away I've been on Lexapro for 9 months, and i take it in the morning time I also have other side effects the worst ones are the sexual side effects which for me is every time!!

It must be so annoying. My dr made it sound like I'll be fine in two weeks. So have the sh*** at the moment. Thanks for replying.

The invega effects dopamine. I would think that would be stimulating in itself. I've been on 10 mg Lexapro for a month. Just moved up to 15. 5mg of melatonin and 500mg of magnesium dioxide and I sleep just fine. I try to avoid Orc sleeping aids. They are derived from histamine a and seem to have a negative reaction with Lexapro in the form of a hangover in the morning. However, if I was desperate to sleep I would pop a couple Benadryl with the melatonin. There is no way you wouldn't sleep off of that.

Also think the anxiety is from the Lexapro starting to work.

Wow you sound like you know your stuff LDavis. Is melatonin an OTC medication? Unfortunately I'm breastfeeding for another three weeks so can't do Benadryl but definitely will try it when not breastfeeding.

Melatonin is Otc. It occurs naturally in the body. I would consult a pharmacist about using it while breastfeeding for sure.

For me, the insomnia never went away. So my dr put me on Seroquel (as well as Lexapro) and now I sleep really well! Maybe ask your dr about Seroquel. It will also boost the effects of the Lexapro! :-)

When do you take it and at what dose? How long have you been on Lexapro? Do you take any other medications?

Hi. A week. 10mls and also on Invega fro early onset psychosis. Also, my anxiety was non existent last night and this morning, I thought the lex was working but my anxiety is much worse right now. What is happening?
