I have been taking Metoprolol Er Sucinate 25 MG for 3 days now and my heart is still skipping beats?I went to the ER the other night and I was diagnosed with sinus tachycardia with premature atrial complexes and I was prescribed 25mg of metoprolol er succinate but the "heart skips" have not stopped. How long before it take effect.
How long will it take for Metoprolol to stop my heart skips?

Has your doctor checked your potassium level?
They started me on 25mg , but after a month of still having episodes, they put me on 50mg and I have not had an episode for 11 weeks. Give it a bit more time and I'm sure you have a follow up.
I should add, that although I do not have full blown episodes, I still have indications periodically where I recognize symptoms accumulating, that if I were not on the Metaprolol, would have a different outcome.
