Without seeing it it as hard to say but it sounds like an inhalant of some type.twenty years a ago the drug “rush”was a brown glass bottle with one or two white tiny balls in a clear liquid .you smell it and it gave you a five second feeling I. Your head.i never understood it because it only lasted five seconds literally and the feeling was nothing to speak of ither.but if you need to know I’d take it to cops and ask them if there’s any way to find out the contents of it cause your family member was in possession of it so your rightfully concerned
Hello I and my husband grew up on the streets..if it is a small transparent bottle with a white or black screw top and a small white ball or balls..this would most likely be for huffing, like a whip-it kinds, but it also can make you horny too... so save your money, flush it down the drain. ..I wish you the best ...

It's a common potpourri silicate product.
That brown bottle is filled with what is known as "poppers," a liquid whose vapors are inhaled for a euphoric feeling especially for enhancing sexual pleasure. For more information, search amyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, poppers, liquid aroma, and liquid incense on the internet.
im sure that if you take this bottle into the sheriffs dept. they may be able to help you identify its contents. considering you dont know what it is you should be careful with it. when meth or crack is manufactured it is highly flammable/explosive.
