Leon 500 is known generically in the US as Levofloxacin . It belongs to a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. Levofloxacin is used to treat bacterial infections.
Was a bacterial infection confirmed/diagnosed - were swabs taken?
If not, you may have a viral respiratory infection in which case the antibiotics would be ineffective.
Talk to your pharmacist - a decongestant nasal spray and/or a decongestant tablet should help to unblock the ears. Acetaminophen may help the ear pain and a cough suppressant could ease your cough.
My doctor still had me take Levaquin twice as long for sinus infection. You may be right about the script, Suzanne. It's ok to use the nasal spray for a short period, but you can very easily have rebound effects from these kind of medications too, meaning they will un-stuff you, but you will keep stuffing up from using it for too long, & it becomes habitual. Sounds to me like you need to call or see your doctor again. The ears are nothing to mess with I found out today even a hearing aid will not help me get my hearing back from a sinus-ear infection I had 2 years ago that I let go to long.
Are you sure you did not mean LUPIN 500
Pill imprint LUPIN 500 has been identified as Cefprozil 500 mg.
Cefprozil is used in the treatment of sinusitis; bladder infection; upper respiratory tract infection; kidney infections; otitis media (and more), and belongs to the drug class second generation cephalosporins. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy.
This would make more sense. My allergisy doctor always says it takes 2 full doses of the normal prescribtion for a bad sinus infection. Might want to call or go see him or her again.sounds like you also have ear infections along with it. Good luck, I know how miserable you feel. Mary632998
