was taking perindoprill 4mg for 28 days, bp was unchanged, so now been put on candesartan 8mg for a months trial

Yes, you should see some results in 2 days. It is however difficult to assess the benefits in 2 days, unless you have a blood pressure machine and can check you blood pressure to see if there has been a drop from 2 days ago.
