I've been on it for 1 month. Will this ease up? I'm pretty miserable! Thanks for your time.
I am on the generic brand of cymbalta and have been experiencing diarrhea during the day and night?

I had the same problem until I finally decided it was just too much so I gradually tapered off them. Not sorry that I did.
Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it.
Hi Sardac. There are many side effects of Cymbalta (Duloxetine). It can cause diarrhea or constipation. For me it was constipation and it lasted the whole 10 years I’ve been taking it. I have been tapering off slowly and I’m down from 60 mg to 15 mg and I no longer have that problem. There are many horrible side effects from these types of medications. In my opinion if the diarrhea hasn’t eased up yet then there’s a good chance that it could continue. I realize that there are medications that can be taken to help with different side effects but I chose to taper off instead of taking more medications. I will warn you though if you decide that Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is not for you please taper off slowly or you could experience what is called ‘The Discontinuation Syndrome’. I’m sorry if I sound negative but I went through a nightmare on this drug and I will never advise anyone to take it. Just research all that you can and you will see many others who went through the same things. Please do take care and best wishes to you. Cindy
Thank you Cindy. I will definitely discuss getting off this medication with my Rheumatologist. Today was my worst day. Felt like I was in a fog, dizzy and weak. Not worth it. I may have to look into something else.
Hi Sardac. I’m so relieved to hear that you’re going to talk to your Rhemetologist about going of Cymbalta (Duloxetine). Feeling dizzy, weak and like you are in a fog are exactly three of the horrible side effects that I had. They just kept worse the longer I took this medication. Along with memory loss, eyesight loss and hearing loss. I gained a lot of weight too. Being on these types of medications and having to taper have been the worst experiences of my life. Please remember to taper off slow. If you find that you are feeling worse; like aches, pains, headaches and nausea; then you could be tapering too fast. Some doctors don’t realize how slow it needs to be done and the dangers of ‘The Discontinuation Syndrome’. I would really like to know how you make out. That’s if you don’t mind letting me know. Take care of yourself and I wish you the best during this time. Cindy
Hi Cindy! Can you believe Dr forgot to mention to discontinue Prozac when taking Cymbalta? I was a little upset when he told me today. This is obviously why I feel the way I do. I will not be taking the Cymbalta. He reassured me that it was ok to stop immediately since I'm on Prozac. Trust me when I tell you, I am not happy. In the mean time, my intestines are still a mess. I am praying that everything will go back to some normalcy soon. Just wanted to give you an update!
