Does anyone drink on tramadol as I have and haven’t had any issues for 2 years taking two50mg tramadol a day? What do you think people, I am also on sertraline 100mg? Should I stop taking the sertraline? I am not sure it does anything? I have not felt any better depression wise since taking it for over 3 years but tramadol is a godsen. Does anyone have any advice? Is long term tramadol bad for liver and kidneys? Thanks.
I’ve found tramadol fantastic. Can I take 100mg?

I also took antidepressants but when realized it was the tramadol that was allowing me to live through the worst anxiety/ depression. I stopped the antidepressants cold turkey and I would never recommend that as I suffered with brain zaps as withdrawal for months afterwards. It has done what no antidepressants have ever done. What dosage do u take daily. And have you had any need to up the dose?
Hi, Degzy!
Tramadol is metabolized by the liver and primary elimination is through the kidneys. It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about possible blood work to be sure your liver and kidney values are normal and about the possibility of habituation or addiction.
As for sertraline again you'd want to talk to your doctor about discontinuation (don't stop sertraline abruptly on your own!), or other possible options.
Thanks WildcatVet, I have my bloods done every year because Ime on ramipril 10mg been on them 28 years, my bloods have always come back ok thankfully, Do you think tramadol 100mg a day is ok with 100mg sertraline I’ve had no issues feel fantastic since been on tramadol
I agree with WC. Also, Tramadol relieves pain by altering how the brain perceives it. It works by activating opiate receptors in the central nervous system. So pairing with alcohol is a negative decision. As alcohol is a stimulant which suppressed the nervous system hence lead to increase blood pressure and heart rate etc. keep in mind our don’t digest alcohol, it passes in your blood stream quickly. Which may damage your kidney and liver.
@Degzy.
It's great your bloods are normal!
Does your doctor know that you're taking both medications because there's a slight chance of interactions:

It may be that they have deemed that the benefits outweigh the risk but why continue taking
sertraline if you feel it's not working?
On the other hand being that tramadol is a controlled substance you want to weigh the wisdom of long term use.
