If you are still with Drugs.com, I think I know. If you are talking about the 4way that came in regular and menthol, I ran into the same problem and it was the only thing that gave me any relief. I contacted a person at the number for the manufacturer who told me they had a production problem at the plant and had closed shop. He said they had no idea as to whether or not they would reopen for production. At this time it appears not.
You can get 4-way at AMAZON people!
Just order the product thet you are looking for online.
As of JAN 24 2015 4way nasal spray IS BACK ON SHELVES. The website 4WAYSPRAY.COM is also up & running w/ a product sold here locator using zip code. I can't find a reason for it disappearing almost 3 yrs ago but I was stunned to see it @ my local Walmart. It's also on Walgreens shelves as of today.
Whatever the reason for the break I'm personally thrilled to see it again. Now that the old favorite is back I'm not dreading spring allergies this year.
Walmart's Equate brand dried my nose & sinus' out & caused horrible nosebleeds. For this reason I used Neosynephrine Cold formula as it didn't dry me out as badly but still wasn't the same even though the active ingredient is identical. The formulas are NOT IDENTICAL. I hope this helps.
Went to walmart on Sept 17 2014. 4way is back on the shelf!
Did you get some? have they changed it?
4 way nasal spray contained phenylephrine, peril amine malate and naphazoline. Walmart and the currently shelved 4 way contain only phenylephrine
Pyrilamine maleate
Walgreens in Florida had the regular red 4way. Still holding out for the menthol
Are you saying Walgreens has 4Way ? has 4Way came back?
I live in Florida, Have not been to Walgreens in a while
I saw 4 way in one of the major drugstores for the first time in years yesterday, near Rochester NY. I'm pretty sure it was a Walgreen's. I won't be going back to it though - it cost over $5.00 a bottle. The generics are a lot cheaper and they work just as well for me.
Maybe they are back in buisness
Great news for all you 4 way spray lovers. I found 4 way spray today at walgreens in San Diego, CA. It was on the shelf as a new item. My husband is so happy.
Yea I was a dedicated customer until they took it off the shelf and now I'm a dedicated Equate user. I don't think I'm going back
WalMart in Spencer,WV carries the regular red...
I was using the old 4-way four years if I ran out.In would almost have a panic attack. The best that ive have found it has the same stuff in it as the old one.I mean really the same stuff giant supermarkets sell it .Its called nasal four its a care one product its only three dollers and something. But its the best
I haven't been able to find 4way menthol for ages either. Believe me, it's certainly not for lack of trying! Even though I've done without for at least a year and a half (give or take), I still miss it very much every time I can't breathe. I tried Vicks menthol nasal spray, once. DON'T DO IT!! Painful burning is not what I was expecting, but that's what I got.
Yea, I pretty much given up that 4way will ever be back on the market so I just use the Wal-Mart generic version of 4way, It was not that great at first but I have gotten use to them. The problem with theirs is I cant always find them on their shelves. I didn't know how popular Phenylephrine was. I thought that hardly anyone used this nasal spray, but I was surprisingly wrong. There must be a whole lot of people that use it
U should have tried Basel four it is at giant supermarkets .Its the same as the old 4way ive been using Basel sprays four 30 years and there is the best
I will give it a try if I see it. I have never seen it though, Do you think Publix Grocery stores carry them ?
For what it's worth, I saw 4 way in one of the major drugstores for the first time in years yesterday, near Rochester NY. I'm pretty sure it was a Walgreen's. I won't be going back to it though - it cost over $5.00 a bottle. The generics are a lot cheaper and they work just as well for me.
I found it..it's NOT 4 WAY but WalMart has made a copy that works the same. I have tried all different brands with NO LUCK then came across this spray and it is exactly like 4-way. Go to Wal Mart look for their own brand of EQUATE you will see a yellow circle that says compare to 4-Way..and it's the same formula. They duplicate others also like AFRIN etc but they Do NOT work. The 4-Way is perfect. I was going to buy the amazon $225. out of desperation and found the WalMart first. IT'S PERFECT AND COSTS about $2.95 ... try it and spread the word... WE GOT IT BACK..THANKS TO WALMART. IT WAS ALSO MY FIRST TIME IN A WALMART !
Yea that's what I have been using, If 4Way does come back on the market like they said they were going to I am going to stay with the Walmart brand. It is my opinion that the company that produced 4Way nasal Spray did its customers dirty by just taking their brand off the market without telling their customers what was going on. Even the pharmacist @ Walgreens and all the other drug stores could not tell me why I could not buy 4Way anymore and believe me I asked. Well now I'm pissed and 4Way wont get any more of my money!
Last time I called Novatus the maker of 4 way they said it will not be produced again. Walgreen's brand of 4 Way will not work but the
Wal Mart is PERFECT. thanks for your note
Dr. James
Wallgreens has a product called wall4
but it is NOT THE SAME Walmart's product is PERFECT and just like the 4way. YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE AGAIN being able to have a clear airway.
WHEN you but it at Walmart look at the label closely there is a copy of other brands as well like Afrin but read the yellow circle on the front of the box it will say replaces 4WAY.
I was just at Walgreens tonight. They have a 4 way substitute. Same active ingredient. There is also a Ephrin nose drops. Same active ingredient.
It's been gone here in Phoenix for over a year, thank goodness I was a hoarder of 4 way menthol spray because it has gotten me they til about a month ago, my problem was I hate the long nozzle of the other nasal sprays. I liked 4 ways shorter wider nozzle. So what I just did, I bought a compare to 4 way nasal spray at Walmart and switched out the bottles, I put the Walmart brand In the 4 way bottle and even tho it's not the menthol it still works pretty good. Just a helpful post to all those who really miss 4 way. Don't understand what the hold up is and why no one is commenting anywhere in the media, but will be anxious to get them back
I use the old 4way bottle and fill it with the Walmart 4way replacement.
it's easy..
Nothing on the market works as well as 4 Way Nasal Spray in my opinion and many, many friend's opinion. I've tried the generic versions and for me they don't work as well. Please get 4 Way back on the shelves. I tried to buy it online with no luck!
Have you tried Neo Synephrin? It has the same ingredients. I tried it and it works fine maybe even better or you can always vist Amazon.com and for $45
purchase a bottle or you can buy-it-now on e-Bay for a mere price of $75.
What some people will do, eh?
Thanks Ruggy Cat..I will try it.
thanks to everyone who answered, I am using generic cvs nasal spray and it is made with the same ingrediants as the 4way, you know the company did not care about their customers so even if they do make a comeback I dont think I will make a comeback with them, so they can have my best wishes but I wont give them any money
Just happen to find another "working" nasal spray with the ingredient
phenylephrine that works great. It just happens to be called Nasal Four.
It's in a large 1 oz spray bottle and it's "cheap" for now. Give it a try.

I have to agree with mrobinson. I've used 4 Way for decades. It was the only product on the market (at the time) that worked for me and I tried them all. 4 Way was not without its problems if overused but it worked very well. So well, in fact, I had never needed to try anything else... until... it was no longer available in my area. I looked everywhere without success or knowing why the product suddenly was no longer available. I had to begin my search all over again. Tried Vicks, Equate (which someone here said was the same thing - wrong!), Afrin, Neo-Synephrine and others. The only one that worked at all for me was Neo-Synephrine. However, IMHO, it is not better or even just as good. It works fairly well but it is not a substitute. It will get me by for now, but I want 4 Way back!
I agree... I've been trying to get the last bit out of my bottle. However, I did pick up some of the Walgreens version today and it works great. Try that!
I was thrilled to see I wasn't the only one missing 4-Way nasal spray. I agree with most of what has already been said. Liked the 4-way bottle (not the long spout, but the short fat one that it had) and it worked really fast. I know I am a nose spray addict but I have to be able to breathe. I have awful sinus allergies especially in the Spring. Hopefully they will get things worked out and bring this product back soon!
The new 4 Way Nasal Spray, which i found at Walmart March 2015, is far different from what it was in 2012. This stuff don't work at all. It used to be the best. Now it's not worth buying at all. I've been using Afrin, which was never as good as 4way in the past, but now at least does work, whereas 4way does not.
Hello I am having the same problem. Novartis is upgrading their facility they have said since the beginning of the year. The best thing to do is keep sending them emails on their site There is a way to email them but you have to play with the site. Or you can call them at 800-452-0051. Today they told me they will be re releasing the product, but no one seems to have a date. I know if enough people speak up and say something we will get our product back!
If you look up "phenylephrine" which is in 4 way nasal spray, you'll see that this as of yet wasn't approved by the FDA. Figures, I'm age 62 and in my earlier years (40 years ago), I used to put certain things up my nose to get a buzz (stupid of me) and kinda ruined
the innerds of whatever's there. Anyway, for 10 or so years I did the Afrin thing
which worked great 'till my nose needed something else and low and behold, there was "4 way nasal spray" which phenylephrine shrinks the inflamed blood vessels in your nose so you could breath but like Tylenol Xtra Strength, they took it off the shelf. So, I travelled to hells half acre looking for 4 way nasal spray only to realize there ain't anymore. There's even a couple of so called
"jitrools" on e-Bay trying to sell one bottle of this stuff for $75 and Amazon has a bottle for $45. What a country,eh! But all is not lost. I found a nasal spray
cheaper that works better, has phenylephrine in it and has a longer nossle
like the Afrin bottle to really get in there and it's called Neo Synephrine over-the-counter with NO prescription needed. So my fellow nostril opener-upper
seekers I'd make a beeline to the nearest drugstore or Family Dollar or Dollar
General store before they decide to remove this working nasal spray also.
In the end, who needs 4 way anymore when this one's better.
Gary
As of then end of March, yes 4 Way nasal spray IS back on the shelves BUT,
I tried it along with an old bottle of 4 Way and it doesn't quite match up to the old one. They left something out and I'll have to study the Ingredients and get back later but It's NOT the same.
Novartis OTC says the brand is not discontinued, but the plant is being renovated (and will be open again later this year). In the meantime... a generic is available. Equate (Walmart) Fast Acting Nasal Spray is the same thing as 4-Way (red label). There is even a small gold circle on the label that states: "Compare to 4-Way Nasal Spray Active Ingredient."
