It depends where you get them from. I do not think a reputable pharmacy will dispense fake medications, but if you get them from the street, yes, the possibility of it being fake exists.
BTW, the pill imprint you provide ( which really is G 372 2) is not brand name Xanax is generic, it is Alprazolam 2 mg.
I am not judging you, but I do believe you were not prescribed this benzodiazepine.
