The side effects are still with my husband and it's been about 4 years since he took it. last dose was only supposed to be for three months and she made a mistake and gave him the 6 month dose. all she said was oops! Please do your research on who is behind this and other medications before making any decisions. He almost died because he got an infection in his abdomen..
how long does eligard affect the body
Sometimes, unfortunately, the side-effects stay with you. They may diminish in severity over some years and you maybe one of the lucky ones where they disappear in 6 months of non use. You may get the sex drive back and the ability to have intercourse may return but often the fatigue, hot flashes, memory loss diminish but never go away. I have not suffered from shortness of breath and have had ear ringing for years (about 10). I have been on Eligard for 3 years and then only when required (intermittent)
I have been on Eligard for 21 months and since 3 months I am stopped getting it however hot flashes continues in a lesser strength, not as strong as before, the skin itching and allergy disapeared though some minimal itching time by time comes back.Dry mouth and dry skin stays. I wonder how long this life disturbing conditions will continue if anyone has experience please answer me, Thanks
The elimination half life is approximately 3 hours. It would take approximately 16.5 hours (5.5 x 3 hours) for the drug to be completely out of your system. I hope you have recovered from the side effects by now.
