I feel that using albuterol has dried my hair and skin significantly. It did the same to my mom.
It is a real possibility that it is causing that, and they probably wouldn't list that as a side effect. Try using shampoos that list that they smooth the hair, straighten it or reduce frizz, look for dimethicone, amidethicone or cyclomethicone as an ingredient in both the shampoo and conditioner. I am a hairdresser and will make some suggestions from over the counter first ( although professional shampoo and conditioner will make a much better improvement) clairol herbal essences in the None Of You Frizzness, Nexxus Therapy shampoo and Humectress conditioner( now available in drugstores and mass market stores, and Neutrogena triple moisturizer. You may also need a leave in conditioner that lists the dimethicone, Frizz ease would be an example of this. Professional shampoo and conditioner suggestions would be a relatively new product called Moroccan Oil Shampoo, conditioner and leave in.
It is expensive, but is very very concentrated and will last alot longer than retail products. This product contains an ingredient called Aragan Oil and you may be able to find it in another brand that is a bit cheaper than the Morrocan Oil brand. You can go to E-bay or amazon to look for even professional products cheaper than you can get them in salons. Bioslk silk therapy or silk infusion will help alot and is a leave in. A flat Iron or curling iron will improve the way the hair looks and feels although you are adding heat. If the hair is breaking off, don't use a flat Iron or curling Iron. If it is just frizzy, the heat will help smooth it.
I have asthma and i use albuterol but never had any problem with my hair,as far as i know there is no side effects that affect your hair maybe you can try a new shampoo and cond and see if that works it might be the humidity outside i have really long hair and mine has been like that too until i found a leave in cond that worked great, hope this helps
