I was diagnosed in 2015 and entered the tail end of the clinical trial drug for what became Empliciti. It is a second line drug that is paired with a protease inhibitor. I had no problem tolerating Empliciti. The other drugs worked well but i could not tolerate the side effects. Revlimid,Ninlaro, velcade,Cytoxan and kyprolis all had to be stopped. My oncologist decided to just use Empliciti. This worked by itself for 3 years and was great.
Sorry to say but it has run its course and am going try Darzalex. Has anyone used this as a single agent successfully. I am not looking forward to go back on the drug merry go round. Which other drugs are being coupled with your darzalex?
Daratumumab - Darzalex as a single agent?

I was diagnosed with MM and accurate kidney failure in September 2018 and have been on Darzalex since. I have had 52 (once a month) injections of Darzalex. I am in full remission without side effects and the kidneys have recovered. I will continue with Darzalex monthly as long as it keeps doing its magic.
I also had 4 cycles of Velcade in combination with Darzalex initially along with a stem cell therapy.
Good luck and stay positive.
Yes, I have taken it with Dexamethasone only and it has been successful for 3 years in putting me in remission and staying there.
Thank you for responding. This is nice to know. Were you on it with other meds.at any point or were you taking it by itself from the start. I have been around the block enough to know our cancer is fickle. What works for one person might not for the next. Any pointers you can pass on to me about your treatment. I’m assuming you have Myeloma.
I have high risk myeloma due to a chromosome deletion. There is a new therapy in its infancy for treatment of leukemia and lymphoma that is given as a single injection. I believe it was developed at University Hospital in Cleveland. I go to the Cleveland Clinic across the street.Literally. Good luck in your journey my friend.
Yes to your question. You are in great hands at The Cleveland Clinic. Advances in treatment for nearly all cancers are coming at very fast pace now!!! Good luck!! Thanks for the kind words and my prayers go out for you!!
