- vicodin, xanax, clonidine
cuz it feel the same but my pressure goes way down
It is neither of the two. It is entirely different drug. It is a beta blocker formerly mostly used for lowering blood pressure but more recently it is used to help with managing opiate withdrawal symptoms.
It is first a bp med. They found it helps anxiety.
No, it is not the same as Xanax or Vicodin. Xanax is a benzodiazepine and Vicodin is a combination pain reliever with an opioid. Clonidine is actually closely related to Tizanidine which is a muscle relaxer.. Both clonidine and tizanidine are centrally acting alpha agonists. Tizanidine doesnt reduce blood pressure to the degree clonidine does however.
Yes it will bring your pressure down fairly quickly but you should feel no euphoria or mood elevation with it. It has no abuse potential.
It does work impressively for helping ease opiate withdrawals. Most Drs. no longer use it for treating high blood pressure because of the BP rebound effect. There are many better and newer alternatives for treating high BP.
