I have the following disorders: major depression, social anxiety disorder, and attention deficit disorder. my ADD was diagnosed 1 month ago.
I've been on antidepressants for 7 years, 3 months ago I changed my doctor and his medications helped so far and until yesterday I was on bupropion 150mg every 12 hours, sertraline 100mg every 12 hours, lithium 150mg every 12 hours, propranolol 40mg every 12 hours, clomipramine 10mg every night and methylphenidate 20mg per day.
but yesterday he prescribed me 300mg sertraline+450mg bupropion+300mg lithium+10mg clomipramine+20mg Ritalin per day! Doesn't this cause serotonin syndrome?
Can I take bupropion + sertraline + lithium + clomipramine + methylphenidate together?

Hi, mmizanian!
The combination of lithium and sertraline has the POTENTIAL for causing serotonin syndrome which is rare. You should be aware of the symptoms but it is not only rare but treatable in the early stages.

The other combinations with bupropion have the POTENTIAL for causing seizures but again this is very rare.

I wouldn't be too alarmed because these medications were prescribed by a provider who knows these risks and has judged that the benefits to you in treating your conditions far outweighs the risks.
I'm taking a very similar combination with no problems at all although my psychiatrist monitors me closely.
Hi, thank you very much.
Everything I read about this last night was very scary, but now I am relieved by your answer.
thanks again.
