While I haven't been on Paxil, I've been on and off Prozac (another SSRI). I was on it for years and it really helped, then thought I didn't need it and was just tired of taking it, so stopped. Then months later the panic/anxiety/depression came back. When I went back on it, it took about the same amount of time to work as it did the first time - for me that was about 3 weeks (it's different for everyone). Psychiatrists will often want to take people off the SSRIs for a 'drug holiday', to see if their symptoms are gone. But if not, they just put you back on the same med. Actually another time, it seemed Prozac stopped working, and my psychiatrist called it "Prozac poop out." So at his direction I went off it for a few months, then back on it and it worked again. Good luck
Hi I have over 15 years been trying antidepressants and honestly the only one I could actually feel a mood improvement on was Paxil. I quit taking it due to weight gain but the ability probably caused more weight gain. Consult your dr. I don't know how long withdrawals last but surely it's out of your system by now. I have been considering going back on it myself. Did it cause weight gain for you. At this point I just want to feel better. I hope you do soon. Unfortunately the effects may take a couple of weeks. Hang in there it's worth it in my opinion:)
It will be the same amount of time as when you first took it. It takes approximately 4-8 weeks to reach the full therapeutic benefit; however with paxil you may start to feel better in a couple of weeks.
I think a number of weeks as you doctor how many

Its going to be the
same as the first
time. See what happens when you think you don't need it anymore?
