I assume it’s because it wipes out the good bacteria in your gut that help to absorb and metabolize the sertraline?
Did anyone taking antibiotics notice that it weakened the effects of sertraline?

Thanks but antibiotics wipe out your gut flora that make a significant impact on tryptophan metabolism that is needed to synthesis neurotransmitters like Serotonin. Therefore, although the dose is ensuring reduced reputake, your brain might not be producing as much as Serotonin. I have been struggling with SIBO for quite some time undetected and my Psych and Gastroenterologist both advised this is why I couldn’t maybe level on a dose with Sertraline as absorption is not consistent. Now I’ve gone down hill rapidly since taking the antibiotics

That is why probiotics are taken when in a course of treatment with antibiotics.
Yep. I’ve been on Symprove for a few months :)
I answered your question to help you, not to argue about who is right or wrong.
I did research your question and could not find any data on how the gut flora affects neurotransmitters (serotonin).
BTW, it is a challenging and quite good question.
I wish you the very best and hope you get back on track with your treatment, masso
