Hi sailorjimilove,
How were you able to get off of your meds?
I bought the Fisher Wallace product to see if it helps with PTSD, depression, etc. I once found great benefit from meditation, but dropped the practice because I could not sit still and quiet, and was constantly interrupted by invasive thoughts. The Fisher Wallace stimulator has helped me to meditate and achieve mental calm while using the device. The benefits of the stimulator are not an instantaneous fix, like a drug or other stimulant. I found the benefits subtle at first but gradually over time, came to rely on the stimulator to give me a period of calmness and well-being during my day.
I can see how using it for 20 min, twice a day helped me because I purposely did not walk around or do anything while using it. I would sit or lay on my bed and consciously just relax while it was on, essentially meditating. So if anyone is desperate, and cant afford it my advice is to meditate for 20 min twice a day. I honestly believe it is more beneficial than the actual device. BUT saying that I DO NOT regret my purchase at all. I was desperately depressed and obviously willing to try everything. Although I don't use it now, (A lot of changed since I first purchased it), I am happy to have it should I feel that way again. Luckily I am off all my antidepressant completely for a month now and doing well without at the moment. It is so hard to say if this works or not. I know it does have some benefit, even if it's placebo.
Anthem will not cover this thing I even gave the
Federal Tax ID # for Fisher Wallace Laboratories, LLC: 20-8131183
NPI #: 1497045215
AND the Device Reimbursement Code (Procedure HSPCS Code): E0720
I used it twice a day on level 2 for 2 weeks then level 3 for a few weeks, i did it twice a day for 20 minutes. I have stopped using it for the time being, but if i get s bad as I was I will start using it again. I thought the first 2 weeks I noticed a difference but could of easily been just the timing or placebo. I am to completely sold even though i did buy the darn thing, and I know that other companies are getting their devices FDA approved and the market will force their price down... I would recommend cognitive behavioral therapy before this device personally.
I'm sorry to hear that... I've heard and listened to so many positive testimonials...
I am very suspicious about the Fisher Wallace (FW) company. It is not interested in its patients one iota. Here's what happened to me: I couldn't find a dr who would approve of my buying it, so I paid $50 to get the online acupuncturist associated with FW to approve it. I bought it to fight depression. I used it for 20 minutes twice a day for 4 days . . . and experienced sudden hearing loss in one of my ears! I rushed to the dr and was put on steroids and my hearing has improved--thank God!
I called the company not once, not twice, but THREE times to tell them about my experience, and no one who answered the phone cared! AT all. Each person immediately said, "Well, it wasn't due to the device. The device has never caused hearing loss." How do they know that's true?! Especially since not one of the three times did the phone answerer ask for my name or take down any details of my experience? Maybe I'm one in a million, but what happened to me should be taken seriously. It should be recorded and investigated. But clearly this company isn't keeping ANY records of any complaints. So their ad says, "We never have complaints" simply because they aren't keeping track of the complaints! For a medical device company, they are shockingly disinterested when a user calls them with a serious health issue that may or may not be related to their device. They are way beyond cavalier about their patients' results and only interested in the almighty dollar.
That is very disconcerting. I guess I put too much faith in FDA approval :/
@djhme Did you report this to the FDA? Whenever we try a new medication or device approved by the FDA and we have an unusual side effect, we're told to report it. All the best...
I'm familiar with this product and to say that it gave you symptoms of Tinnitus are inconceivable. The strength of this product does not nearly amount to enough to cause those symptoms unless you were using it for ear plugs!
So long as you're using the device as suggested by the videos online you should not experience those symptoms. I would make sure you talk with your doctor because there could be something else at play.
Absolutely NOT inconceivable that it would cause tinnitus. Aspirin is know to cause tinnitus... It could not be the device at all but it isn't inconceivable. Also, I agree with above comments about the company- they are profit driven and got the FDA approval purely for marketing.
Hopefully the correct FDA page will come through. This device is "cleared" by the FDA according to the Fischer Wallace website. It has NOT been FDA approved. Big difference. If the correct link isn't shown, just search on FDA cleared v. approved.

I am on my 3rd week of using this. My husband says he sees a difference. But you need to use it twice a day for 20 minutes. I have kids and it's hard to just find the time, but I have made it a priority and only missed using it twice. I think I see a difference but I'm hoping a see more of an improvement over the next week or two. It's also hard to say if it's the device or the fact that my doctor increased my antidepressant dosages around the same time. I still feel depressed, I still struggle. To be honest, it may just be taking the 20 minutes in the morning and evening to sit and do this that is helping. I'm not sure but I'm going to keep trying. I certainly thought long and hard before spending the money but you can return it so it's worth a shot. The fact that's it's expensive has to do with all the stuff that needs to be done to get it FDA approved.
I'm on the fence, but I couldn't NOT try it when medications and everything else didn't seem to be working. The jury is still out with me but I do recommend people giving it a try since it has a money back guarantee. Even if it is placebo effect, if I feel better it's worth it because this persistent depression is literally killing me and I ordered this feeling completely hopeless, just knowing something else was on the way I could try helped me out mentally. I can't give you a clear answer or not if this device works though. I also need to point out I haven't had any negative side effects like headaches or memory loss.
Hi sailorjimilove, have you noticed a difference since you last posted this??
I have stopped using it. Wasn't seeing much difference but if i feel as bad as i was feeling i would try it again.
I am on week 2 and my sleeping has greatly improved. I am sleeping much better and waking less and I am able to go back to sleep!
I brought it for insomnia, it worked for a while, then stopped working. I keep trying and hoping it will work, but it doesn't, not for me.
Have you discontinued using the device completely Farmor? Was an explanation ever given why it may have stopped working?
