I started on an SSRI to treat ppd and anxiety, and despite lots of jogging and healthy eating, I put on a few lbs. My doctor switched me to bupropion in hopes that it will work for my depression and not get in the way of my weight loss (trying to lose the last 20lbs of baby weight!). The doctor said it may actually boost my weight loss. Has this been the case for anyone? Also, a second question - is bupropion less effective than Wellbutrin for some people?
Thanks
Has anyone taken bupropion? Has it helped you to lose weight?

Hi, Slav!
Although bupropion can cause weight changes both ways 28% of users lost about 5lbs or more in clinical studies.
Personally, bupropion has helped me lose15lbs that I had gained on a different antidepressant I had been taking previously.
I've never taken the brand name Wellbutrin but I've been on many different generics over the years and they all work very efficiently for me.
Best regards!
