I have been using Androgel pump for months and every time a white film is left behind on shoulder skin upon drying.
Contacted abbvie help line and was told that I am wrong and there is NO residue upon drying!
I took a picture of my shoulder showing white residue on the application site and showed it to my local compounding pharmacy. They said it is residual dried up polymer and might impact dosage efficiency.
My doctor now wants to change to compounding formulation to avoid residue film formation. But insurance does not pay for compounding.
Does any one else has similar observation while using Androgel pump?
Any suggestions?

I gave up on AndroGel & went to compound (on my own dime). Can't be dictated to "cover up" the powder, which WILL be present for two hours. I go for a sleeveless run after application, or walk along beach, etc. and have to be a billboard for badly manufactured substance. Plus, the powder -testosterone - is shed throughout my home throughout the day - NOT healthy!
If the film of androgel is too thick it will remain on skin and the white powder is the testosterone.
To thin film and it evaporates . Find a good way to put the right film .
I suggest if everything fails to put it on forearms and rub your forearms together. Just find the right spot by trial and error how much you should rub your forearms ... untill is not powder.
