I used to take Adderall because I was always tired and it helped me stay awake during the day. Is this what it is actually for?
Does Adderall help keep people awake, is this what it is used for?

Only for persons with narcolepsy, or other serious staying awake/alert issues, is Adderall prescribed to stay awake. Adderall is a powerful central nervous system stimulant so it does have qualities of keeping one awake, but for sufferers of ADD or ADHD it "controls" the thought process which also provides the calming affect, or is it effect?, I never know which one to use. Anyway, Adderall is mainly prescribed for people diagnosed with ADHD. I hope this helped a little.
Adderall is a stimulant used for add and adhd as the other's said... my son was on it yrs ago for adhd, I am sure it is used for other issues as well..you can google it and it will more then likely give you all the medication is used to treat other then add and adhd... as a stimulant I would think it would help keep u awake, but is more for helping one with add/adhd focus and concentrate etc... hope this helped a little..
It is most often used in ADD/ADHD patients to help them focus better but it can also be used for the purpose you were taking it for. Adderall is an amphetamine stimulant.
