Both these meds are NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs). They act by stopping the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals produced by the body as a reaction to painful stimuli. Prostaglandins cause pain. Anyway, ask your doctor if he will change you to opioids. Opioids (ie. codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc) manage pain much better. Plus NSAIDs can be hard on the stomach and can cause stomach ulcers in some people.
